Greetings creative Steemicans! I don’t know why but it seems it took forever for this Monday to arrive. Maybe because we had such a fun long weekend celebrating our son turning five! I’ll be doing another post on that soon so be looking out if you would like to hear about our little adventure :) I’ve missed you all and look forward to catching up today!

Two weeks ago I shared with you that I finally started our baby girl’s blanket. I tried something new and chose six colors instead of two or three this time. I wasn’t for sure if I was gonna love it or even if I was going to continue making it. I got a lot of great positive feedback from you all and I really appreciate the love and support. So as you can see from the pic above it’s a keeper and I DO love it! 😃

As more rows were added and each color was used it started to really grow on me. I like that it’s unique and different and how it stands out. As for my husband, unfortunately he still feels the same way. He says,

As far as quality and neatness your work is beautiful as always but I still think there’s too many colors.

I always appreciate his honesty. He’s a smart man starting out his comment with a compliment. 😂 I have taught him well lol! 😁 Although I would love for him to love it, I know we won’t always like the same things and I’m okay with that. Everyone has their own preferences and we have to learn to accept that. However when it’s finished I think he will like it more~

I have worked on the blanket almost every day. Sometimes it may be for only a few minutes but most times for at least an hour. My goal is to pick it up every day and do a little work on it so I can finish it soon. I’m hoping to have it completed by the end of this month. That way I’ll have at least a month to make some other items before her arrival.

Here’s a recap on how much I had done two weeks ago compared to now...

I still love it! It's unique, it's beautiful and it's made by you! :)

Awwww thanks so much! You always leave such lovely and encouraging comments~ ☺️💕

Look at you go, @crosheille! Personally, I love the multiple colors. It adds texture, interest and artistic complexity. It sounds like you had a grand time with your son's Birthday, and your new daughter is going to love her literal Birthday present. Hee! #NeedleworkMonday to you, my dear!

Thanks so much!! I love the words you used to describe the blanket, Yay!! 😃 I look forward to seeing her wrapped in it!

We really had a great time...tiring but great! 😘

Your blanket for your baby girl looks beautiful. I love the number and the color choices you've made:)

Thank you very much! 😊

It will be wonderful when finished @crosheille... I never really got the chance of making blankets for my daughters either so I totally admire your creation ... 😊

Thank you so much dear friend! I really appreciate the positive feedback you always give~ ☺️

I think the colors and pattern are really beautiful. Your husband's honest comment made me laugh, thinking of my guy. I am married to a man who really wears nothing but t shirts and jeans or shorts. And yet, he offers me feedback on outfits or dance costumes and has a really unfailing eye for fashion. I trust his taste completely, go figure!

Thank you so much for your compliment. Lol that is so funny! It’s amazing how you trust his taste in spite of his fashion choices! 😄

You made great progress since there are a lot of colours here. Good luck with finishing it this month 💚

Thank you so much! I’m really working towards that goal! 😀

The baby blanket is really coming along well. It looks like what would take more than a month to complete tho but knowing you and your skills and a little perseverance , that date could be achievable, however , just take it easy, I don't really know about pregnancy but I hear the final stages are pretty trying. The colours, wow, this is going to take some getting used to. I haven't tried a blend of a this much colours before so it looks so different to me. Nice colour choice, and I like how you respect your husband's decision even though its different from yours and how he commended you first. I hope to be like that as well☺

Thank you! Pregnancy is definitely no joke especially the older you get. But for me crocheting and making projects for my babies is my rest time. I get to relax either in my bed or on the couch with my feet up and just craft away.

It’s okay and I understand that everyone will not be used to the multiple colors. I like to try different things sometimes and I really like the items I make my kids to stand out. I know I won’t see another blanket like it! 😉

Yes I have learned over the years to respect my husbands opinions as he does mine. That’s what makes us unique and work as a great team. We balance each other pretty well. 😊

Yeeaaayy! It is getting more beautiful. I am sure the final result will be just stunning. I can't wait to see it, but we must be patient for a while :)

Thank you so much!! I’m glad you think so!! ☺️

I am still amazed how you managed to get so many things done. I hope you take some time for yourself to relax :-D
The blanket is wonderful and I think the pattern and colour changes look better the bigger it will grow - you have chosen them really well.
For me it was a needle-free eastern, because we visited our family and had to drive very much (which I do not like, because I get sick) But the meeting was lovely, and we searched days in row for eggs and presents :-D
Hugs to you <3

Lol I know! I think it’s because I like to stay busy and take on challenges. I do find time to rest though. Crocheting relaxes me so I consider it my rest time. Thank you for the compliments on the blanket, I’m pleased you like the color choices.

I’m glad you got to enjoy your family time! That sounds like a lot of fun. I prefer not to drive for long periods of time too. Thanks for my hugs~ 💕

Hi, awesome mom. How was your easter holiday with family?

I should give you measurements of my family and mine, paypal you and have your heart woven to wonderful needle masterpieces :-)

That colourful pattern is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Hi there @prch! It was great, thanks for asking! We had a wonderful time together celebrating the Resurrection of Christ. How about you and your family?

Lol! What kind of handmade items would your family like? I’m curious to know! 😄

Thank you so much! I wanted it to stand out and be different...mission accomplished! 😁👌🏽

We had a restful holiday much of the time staying at home like a normal weekend :-)

Im crazy about handmade cardigans and scarfs with an eye-catching pattern exactly like what you did for the blanket. It can be a zig-zag, diamond or stripy print on it. But my wife does not like this at all, she thinks that is so busy. She just wants something to be subtle. Maybe personality differences :-)

That’s cool! I’m like you, I love different and catchy patterns. I do like the subtle ones too but I prefer Color and more Color!! 😄

Maybe next Fall if I get some time I will have to take you up on that family offer and make you all an item! 😊👍🏽

It's really coming along. Your husband sounds very diplomatic..GRIN. It's going to be adorable wrapped around that sweet baby. Happy Birthday to your son. That's a milestone. 5... actually I tell my kids, now as adults, that each of them were very lucky to see 6. LOL... They really start to assert their independence. It's not easy being little. Thanks again for sharing. Looking forward to your update.

Thanks for your support and encouraging comments! Oh my husband is a character. Sometimes he loves different things but most times he sticks with what he’s used to. I look forward to seeing our daughter wrapped in it :)

Thank you! Yes our son is really starting to be independent with lots of things but I love it.

Wow, I never had a chance to do like what u did @crosheille. Its beautiful alrd although its still halfway done. The colors nice to me! U so passionate! Looking forward to the finishing ;)

Thank you for stopping by and leaving such lovely comments :)

Looks like a complicated pattern and the colors look cool, the blanket is coming along really nicely. Happy birthday to your son :)

Thank you! Yes it was a little complicated getting started but I’ve got the hang of it now thank goodness ;)

I love the colors! They go so perfectly together. It's like a combo you might see in a variegated yarn. Beautiful work!

Thank you so much!!! I’m so glad you love the colors!! I am really happy with the way it’s turning out! 😀

Yea! I love seeing the progress of the blanket. It's so pretty and I love all the colors. :) You are doing a great job. Hilarious that he started with a compliment. Ha! Keep up the great work!!

Yay I’m so glad you like the colors!! Thanks so much! Lol yes he is hilarious...he knows how to keep me calm lol! 😅

Well the more colors the more stimulating right? The more brain power she'll get from spending time with it... So I believe you are on the right path!
According to my aunt and cousins, the first couple of kids get away with everything because you haven't learned anything. The next couple of kids get away with nothing because you've learned almost everything and their siblings don't want them to get away with anything. :)

That is right!! Great point! She will be well stimulated for sure! 😄 Thanks for that~

Lol that is so very true! My older kids don’t let the younger ones slip by, they tell us everything they do. I pretty much already know when one is about to be sneaky because I’ve seen it all! It’s a lot of fun though :D

Excellent work! I remain at my opinion - 6 colors are very cool! Blanket is cheerful, bright, it attracts attention!
When I am engaged in a project, that requires a lot of time, I try to give it at least a few minutes a day, so I feel that the process is going on)

Thank you!!! I’m glad to hear you love the 6 color idea! I’m glad I kept going :)

I agree! I like to see and know that the process is coming along so I try to pick it up every day. Most of the times on Monday’s I don’t crochet a lot because in between homeschooling on my breaks, and in the evening after dinner I am enjoying these #NeedleWorkMonday posts!!!! 😁

wow!! colorful blanket it is :-) Im sure if that will finished the baby.or the child would love it too.. The stitches you use are tough, and I am amaze with the patience you have making a blanket :-)

I hope I could have that kind too :-) By the way would like.to ask? What kind of stitch is that?

Ps: Happy birthday to your son.:-)

Thank you very much my dear! I sure hope she loves it! I must say this has been one of the most challenging stitches I’ve tried. But of course repetition has allowed me to get the hang of it!

Sure!! The stitch is called clamshell and here is the link to the pattern!! 😉

Thanks for the Birthday wish to my son :)

Well it turned out to be pretty great :)

Thank you!!! I have a bit more to go but it’s coming along ;)

It's beautiful!

Thank you kindly!!! ☺️

it turns out bright and fun! I wish you success in completing this project!

Thank you always sweet friend ~ 💕

That's beautiful @crosheille! To me, the more colors the better :) It reminds me of an afghan my parents have...your husband really wouldn't like that one then, because it has even more colors than your baby afghan! He probably just has to get used to it, if it's different than what you usually make.

Thank you very much for your input! I really feel that way especially with this pattern. It seems the most colors the better. Yes he just has to get used to it. I’ve made things before where he’s looking at me crazy in the beginning. But when I’m finished he’s like “oh, now I see!” Lol!!!

Hello, @crosheille, I like colors. I like blanket. So cute...
the blanket looks beautiful... Regards

Thank you very much! 😊
