Happy #NeedleWorkMonday!
🌸Please excuse my sideways photos.... Still figuring out how to fix that!🌸
My two oldest daughters and I have entered a few exhibit categories this year.
So, we have been working on our projects!
I entered five sewing categories.
For one, the "serged baby item", I decided to try a new pattern.
What is "serged"?
Check out the inside seam of your shirt.. Most likely it's a serged seam. A serger is a sawing machine that uses 3-5 spools of thread (mine uses 4) to stitch and finish the edge of the seam.
This is the Breezy Romper by Brindille & Twig.
I intended for this to be my entry piece, alas I made a few mistakes, and it's not up to my standards.
However, It was great practice and super cute on #hippiebaby!
Woot woot! Another beautiful mama-made outfit. Haha, she's adorable and you made a matching footie!
I have to get my sewing machine out. I have a pile I need to hem but don't want to mess with it right now
I hate hemming things! Haha!
Id much rather just make a whole new one!
I bought one of those iron on hem for my work slacks hahaha. I haven't made a whole outfit, well, if you count a body bag for the little ones out of my old pants, maybe I did make a "whole one". :)
Aw thank you!
I do love my messy head cheeser!
That romper is adorable. I love the shape at the back, I think it is nice a little looser (and definitely practical for diapers 😉). The material is also one of my favourite colours.
Can I ask what went wrong with it? From these pictures it looks great.
Thank you!
It definitely fits generously. She wears 24m-2t in everything, this is the 18-24m pattern.
My serger was having issues keeping even tension, the neck band top stitching is awful and i messed up a snap, which damages the fabric some removing it to fix it :/
But its useable for my girl!
I see now why I couldnt see in the photos. Good luck on round 2. It looks good on 😀
Ahh the photography tricks ;)
Good photos and well presented things make even the not so great things look nice!
Accept the compliment, it was your skill too!
Hi Mama! Filling you up with kisses!!! Lol 💋 😘 😚
Thank you!!❤
Ok - the pictures weren’t loading earlier so I could only read your words but not see the pictures.
These pictures make the post! You have a gift my fellow mama, you make beautiful projects and even more beautiful babies ❤️❤️
I like the colors you chose.
Aw thank you 💞
I sure love creating things for my babies!
That romper is so beautiful that I would love to see it sold out there, @corrielaine! Fits your girl perfectly! I love the buttons on top and the floral patterns!! <3
Sending you big kisses from @steemitmamas!
Thank you!
My best friend actually has a handmade clothing company. These rompers are one of the peices in her summer customs line.
Hers look way better than mine though!
You made that!!!??? Wow!!! It's really really cute! I would buy that if I have a baby... My youngest is 4 now... The flower design would look pretty too if it's made into a dress... Maybe I should learn to sew one day... then I can make my girls dresses...
Thank you for the compliment!
I looove this print, I had 3 yards of it, but Im running low!
Ive used it many times for shoes too!
OMG!!! They are soooooo CUTE!!!
wow thats amazing!!!
😱😱😱 so beautiful!!!
There you go! 100% upvote kisses for you! Love your needlework! Unfortunately, boys don't get cute rompers like these! hahahaha #steemitmamas
Thank you 💋
Actually, this romper is so cute on boys ( in less girly prints). Check out the pattern link, lots of little boys wearin it!:)
What a great pattern! The fabric is lovely, too.
Thank you!
The Brindille & Twig patterns are really easy to follow, they come with great tutorials!
The fabric came from The Purple Seamstress, she has the best prices on very high quality fabric!
This is the cutest romper and even cuter model <3 I wish I was half as clever as you!!! Kisses
Thank you! I love my full time models!
You ARE very clever, esp at things Im still wrapping my head around! Like coin, and bytes, etc.
😘😘.
That’s lovely @corrielaine.
Nothing compares to clothing lovingly sewn by your own mama.
Loving the prints, and the matching shoes!
Thank you🌸
I always LOVED when my mom made our clothes! My girls seem to as well!
Much love and kiss and hugs to you. Will let other mamas to catch you. Coz I got one before. :)
By the way, I admire your talent and work. Your daughter is blessed. :)
Thank you💞
woww sooo pretty and such a talented mama!!! 😘
Thank you @vincy!
as for the photos, did you take the photos using a digital camera or your phone?
My phone. Most of the time the upload right side up. But some days, they are wonky.
Ah that is a thing with phone cameras, if you took the photo in a certain angle they can be stuck in the wrong side. All you need to do is adjust it in the phone - but are they the right side up on your phone?

I took them vertically 💁
Ah that’s weird then. Actually my brother had some issues too with his android phone maybe that? Haha

You are really an amazing seamstress! I would love to be able to sew this good. I can’t see any mistakes, all I see is Cuteness and professional...I could see it in a store! Such a cute model for the outfit, looks adorable on her! Oooohh those shoes in the comments are soooo Cute!! 😍
I wish you all well for the contests!
Thank you!
I suppose most people wouldnt notice the "issues", if i would find it fit to sell, then the judges will see the mistakes too.
Im excited for project #2!
You’re welcome! I look forward to seeing how it all goes!
wow this is so well done, can't believe this isn't up to your standard, wow I think it is perfect, well done @corrielaine xx
Thank you!
I suppose i should take pictures of the mistakes.
Ughhh so stinkin' cute!!! Please smother those cheeks as much as you can! That romper is beautiful 😍 Sending you lots of 😘😘😘
I ensure those squishy cheeks are loaded with mooches daily!
I LOVE this onesie!! It is adorable and looks so cute on. I have a serger but I have yet to learn how to use it! My mom got it for $20 or something super cheap at a garage sale and passed it on to me.
Did it come with the instruction book? Youll need it!
Sergers are amazing once you get the courage to use them!
This is adorable! I love it. I have been meaning to get to a sewing class to brush up my skills from grade 7 home economics. Ha ha ha! My mom has a serger just collecting dust and I am hoping to get it back into action one of these days. Lovely post, sideways photos and all. -Aimee
