The greatest NCAA basketball team ever

in #ncaa7 years ago

The 1989–90 UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team represented the University of Nevada Las Vegas in NCAA Division I men's competition in the 1989–90 season, and won the NCAA title under head coach Jerry Tarkanian. UNLV crushed DUKE 103-73, still the largest margin in title game history. The greatest college basketball team ever. Do you agree? 26D5CCF9-C2E8-4DA4-B588-1C9032138619.jpeg

I could not agree more, best team ever! :-)

Winning the championship game by the largest margin ever should be enough to prove they are the best team ever. I'd agree they are the best team ever but I'm sure some other teams would disagree. You certainly hear more about the Fab Five than this sick UNLV team.

Let’s never forget the best player on that team also! “GRANDMAMA” D4924BAD-33F2-4A04-AE23-C87CE8A68440.jpeg

UNLV built a bronze statue in honor for Jerry Tarkanian, one of the most successful coaches in basketball history. In 19 seasons at UNLV, “Tark the Shark” won 509 games and led the Runnin’ Rebels to their lone national title (1990) and three other Final Four appearances. Glad he was able to see this statue before he passed away. 18E81E50-39ED-45A8-B035-9910C340A76F.jpeg

There definitely up there. I think Kentucky’s 95-96 team would give them a run for their money. Also Kentucky’s 11-12 team with Anthony Davis. But obviously you can tell I’m a big blue fan! Lol
