I once met a very strange Japanese man who married a Laotian girl, they live together in Laos. He was so eager to show me all the wild (illegally sold) orchids he managed to buy in a 'market' in the big city. His rug sack weighted over twenty kilos!
That's the first time I became interested in wild orchids. I couldn't understand why people would risk their safety trying to collect these from trees in jungle and risk being arrested.

This Japanese man planted all these orchids on his land, he created a private garden full of wild orchids!
