I am very proud to share with you that these wonderful flamingos chose to spend the winter in the lakes near my hometown of Burgas and neighboring Pomorie.
You may not know it, but in general it is not usual for these birds to spend time in Bulgaria at all. It all started about ten years ago, when the first lone flamingo appeared in the lake.
The following year, their number increased to five, then to ten, and now there are literally hundreds. These pink birds fly in from neighboring Greece and Turkey, but sometimes from more distant countries such as Spain and France.
Flamingos are of interest to many photographers who manage to capture unique shots.
