the view from the window today in Swiss😍
Hei hiver!😊
What are you doing these days?
I, for one spend my days overthinking during this time. Nothing serious, just too much free time 😄, so I made myself some curious questions concerning human existence and culture.
Today I wondered...
am I really free as it seems?
As I'm convinced that nobody owns the entire world and I'm free to do whatever I want, not hurting anybody, of course, I asked myself:
If one day I would like to go and live in another country, will it be that easy for me to do it only because I'm a free and respectful human being? And...
..guess what?
NO!
Starting from the fact that you are a citizen of Nation * and not a citizen of The World (understood as planet Earth), as we all know,
actually it is your nationality that allows you to travel somewhere or not.
Let's think about it, I thought
You born in a place and, obviously, it is not your decision, but anyway you have to follow those place's laws and legal procedures as in any other country in the world, though this rules are not the same everywhere!
Oh wow
Never heard of any kind of Visa or special passports?
These are just the iceberg of restrictions that a country puts in its laws to limit entry by foreigners into it. Surely there are some security purposes to do it,
and I'm ok with that,
however in most of the cases you have to declare much more about your desire to go there: you should tell your incomes, where you will stay when you get there, how long do you intend to stay there... but most important: WHY?
Why do you want to come in our country? Is it for a trip? Is it for studies? Is it for work? Is it for what???
So, imagine,
you are at the airport, obliged to respond at each of this questions despite they checked you, so now they know for sure you're not dangerous, thereby it is still not sufficient and they keep investigate your personal informations.
How would you feel?
I feel this way all the times, as if I was a sort of an invader.
An invader of what??
We are all living on this Earth, but we have created different countries and also different laws for each one of them for what?
To feel part of a community but excluding being part of others? Why?
Why don't we have same laws and a language spoken by all, so we could feel equal as we basicly are by nature?
Here I understood that some of us are privileged.
Some of us are born and have immediately rights, sometime more than others, and others not at all. They live in different places, but on the same planet and they are not equal though.
No, I'm not that free as it seems.
I'm not the only one not being free and, thinking about those people that can hardly eat and have a roof over their heads, I feel privileged.
Even if I'm allowed to visit some countries but not all of them, I'm privileged anyway.
And you hiver? What do you think about that? Do you feel free or privileged?
Wish you a great day🤗,
Valentina.
