Tips to Survive in the Wild

in #nature7 years ago

Many instances of a person or group getting lost in the forest and not knowing what to do. But if we know the survival technique (- survival - it should not be afraid) Survival is an art technique of survival in the open by facing uncertain conditions or circumstances, while the survivors are called Survivors.

as an emphasis, that is the need for prayer as a survivor's inner reinforcement and fortitude to achieve safety and to the expected goal.
In a lost state there are Guidelines that must always be considered and must be remembered by all people who usually travel far away is STOP which is short for:

  • STOP and SEAT, stop and rest, do not panic.
  • THINK, think positive and always aware of the circumstances that are facing.
  • OBSERVE, observe the circumstances around, determine direction, take advantage of existing tools and avoid unnecessary things.
  • PLAN, decide what to do by thinking about the consequences.

In survival, a person must have a supportive attitude and mentality to survive, therefore a survivor needs to have the following attitude:

The spirit to live. Without the spirit to live all that is fought will be in vain, with this passion will grow the strength, never give up in the face of problems as difficult as anything.
Confidence. With confidence will arise feelings and strength to carry out something with all confidence.
Common sense. In doing anything sometimes we are less in control of our own thoughts let alone in a state of panic.
Discipline and well-planned activities.

Ability to learn from experience and materials of the outdoors.
Knowledge of the jungle, the sea and the environment, and knowledge of ecology and biology.
There are some guidelines to keep in mind if you want to find a way out if lost:

  • Try to go back to the original road. If you already feel lost, try to get back to the original path (which you previously passed). To make it easier to traverse through a forest you've never been through, use a string of text, a string line, or another trailer (trailer) that can be placed on a tree, twig, or ground. It also makes it easier for the helper to know where you are.

  • Follow the road on the ridge, not in the valley. If you are on the ridge will be more easily visible to others than in the valley. Usually climbing paths are made on the ridge.

  • Do not follow the direction of the river. Because the river is the source of life, and is a place to drink wild animals. It is suggested to go down to the river just to take water only.

If circumstances force you to not possible back then there are some things that must be considered are:
Make shelter. It is very important to protect us from rain and heat. There are several kinds of shelter (bivac) that is natural bivac like cave, tree hole, or overdraft. An artificial bivac can use tree branches and foliage or use poncho (raincoat).

Looking for water and food. Water and food are very important in supporting our lives. Water can be obtained from rivers, rain, vines or broadleaf, and dew. Never take stagnant water in swamps, especially those that are black and greenish. Edible food can be from plants with unobtrusive color features, no aloof life, no itchy sap, and surrounded by animals. Try to rub the food first to eat to the skin and the surface of the lips, if it feels itchy, throw away the mekanan. Food can also come from animals such as wild pigs, all types of poultry especially eggs, green frogs, grasshoppers, worms sondari, fish, shrimp, rats, monitor lizards, lizards, and snakes. Especially for snakes, one span from the head and tail is discarded.

Make a fire. Fire is useful in enlightening, body warming, cooking, avoiding beasts, and fear-fighters. In addition, fire is useful as a means of communication (gesture) and facilitate the helper in your search.

Instead of getting lost we may be minimized by understanding the climbing terrain and the path that will pass, always paying attention to the weather changes, bring more than enough supplies eg 4 days of climbing with enough logistics for 5-6 days, never separate yourself from groups, and always register according to the procedures on the climbing post.

Hopefully the tips above can be useful if you experience a lost condition. And always remember that "God is always with those who dare !!!"
