Hello
In America we have a saying “There goes the neighborhood” usually meaning when some one moves in who you expect to bring in criminal elements and lower property values. A year ago here in Hawaii we had a volcanic eruption with lava erupting from the top of the volcano, along with cracks suddenly opening in the ground with lava flowing out of they is quite scary. Plus the lava would traveling for miles to get to the ocean, destroying everything in its path, including entire forests and entire lakes.
Lava flowing down your streets, and burning homes and businesses to the ground in minutes, and covering everything in its path with hot, molten lava sure gives new meaning to the phrase “There goes the neighborhood! LOL 😂😆🤣
Here are pictures, enjoy!

The government restricted access to these areas and deployed the Hawaii State National Guard to keep people away from these dangerous areas. But the United States Geological Society provides pictures and movies on its website. These are public domain pictures.
when you realize that you forgot to get volcano insurance 😂
I hope everyone is okay! That looks incredibly scary.

Wow. This is both beautiful and scary, how much damage the lava has done with its fire. Thank you for some very interesting photos.
Over 200 homes and businesses lost.
An entire forest and a beautiful lake with wetlands was vaporized by the lava and paved over with 12 foot thick lava flows

Wow. That must have been really scary. But at the same time it must be amazing to see. From a safe distance of course.

Oh, my God!
Photojournalist.
It really risks life.
Yes. In the past the government allowed people closer and people died. Now they restrict access to all except volcano specialist called volcanologists

Could you do a follow up post with the year later? What happened with the people and the environment over the past year?

That’s a good idea.
I will research such a post.
