OUR FIRST SPECKLED KINGSNAKE OF THE YEAR!!!

in #nature5 years ago

Way to go Little-Peppers!

Just look at what the children found when doing their chores! What an amazing creature! As far as snakes go, I think this is a good one to have around.

Because of the incredible and peculiar pattern, I think that the Speckled Kingsnake is my favorite snake that currently populates our property. It's a sight to behold, and reminds me of my favorite television channel... static. Enjoy the photos!

I remember catching these as a kid in the Mojave desert, great pets but was to sad to feed them mice so let them go haha

What a beauty. I had my first visit from one a few weeks ago. Hugs to you and your crew.

All Hail THE KING !!!

That is a cool looking snake. How big is it?

Wow he is truly stunning and your photos really do him justice- 🐍 Happy days @papa-pepper ! Good spotting by those Lil peppers too!

Beautiful creature :-)

When you say kingsnake, I presume this one eats other snakes too. Is this one venomous?

In India, we have the largest king species - the King Cobra. In fact, that's the longest venomous snake in the world. Just for fun fact. 😊

We only have four real kinds of venomous snakes here, if you count rattlesnakes as "one kind." Besides rattlesnakes, we have Copperheads, Cottonmouths, and Coral Snakes. The rest of the venomous ones have to be imported, LOL

Hahaha. Don't import though. See the mess the unchecked import of Burmese python has done to the Everglades.
