This little brown butterfly was visiting my succulents one morning. I don't know the species, but it is probably female. In the world of butterflies, the males are bigger and brightly coloured and the females are similar shaped and smaller.
Plant flowers are also specific colours according to the pollinators they attract. Red flowers mostly attract birds but insects are red-blind and usually pollinate lighter coloured flowers
