I lived in Portland a few years ago and remember how beautiful, lush, and rich the landscape of the Gorge is. I heard about the fire from friends still in the area. I too took a long deep breath and realized how tragic this loss is. As the old song goes "you don't know what you got till it's gone". Thank you for your post.
