We decided to go to an adventure again. As we needed some challenge to make us feel more alive and unwind for our brains to function well.
We asked some friends for some opinions on where to go, then we heard about Casaroro waterfalls in Valencia, Negros Oriental.
Philippines is surrounded and blessed with wonderful and exquisite waterfalls and one of them is the Casaroro falls in the Visayas region. It is situated in the sleeping town of Valencia, Negros Oriental.
Valencia has a lot to offer in terms of natural resources and one of which that they take pride of is the Casaroro falls.
I ask some of my friends if they wanna tag along but most of them discourage me to go there since they said that the trek is quite dangerous and the sorrounding is kinda quiant. But even from all those words, we still conquered our fear and went there.
We drove a motorbike from Dumaguete to Valencia and it took us almost an hour to get there. ( if you don't have a motorbike, you can rent one as there are available motorbike rentals in the city, but you can also ride the tricycle going to valencia terminal, then ride a jeepney from there, the jeepney will drop you off in Valencia proper, so from there you have to ride a habal2x or a tricycle and coordinate with the driver if he can wait for you and take you from casaroro back to the proper so you won't have to worry about your ride going back. You can also try to haggle with the price if you think its too much but usually its around 300php for a 2 way ride )
There is also a little bit of an entrance fee of 10php,
Which is considerably cheap. After paying the fee, you can then start your journey down the 355 stairs. Yes, 355 stairs, and there is this part of the stairs which is made of steel and its really steep, so you really need to be extra careful specially if its wet since it tends to rain a lot in that area as the elevation is quite high.
After the stairs, starts the tricky trek where you need to occasionally climb and jump on big rocks and boulders on all sizes.. ( You can hire a guide if you are not familiar with the place and scared that you will get lost ) the trek is not for the faint hearted as the boulders are really big so you also need to be ready to trip and fall. But once you see the Falls, all your exhaustion from the trek will go away. You will be amazed by the wonderful creation of God. It will charm you with its beauty.
The falls is around 100ft tall and whats unique about it is that it is considerably narrow, different from most of the waterfalls we see where the water cascades on different parts. Although the trek was dangerous and exhausting, i can only say one thing, IT IS WORTH IT and im def coming back
