Hartland Cliff Sunset
My entry for @juliank's and @photocontests daily photography contest is this beautiful sunset photograph I took yesterday evening from the cliff top at Hartland.
I was experimenting for the Monamad Sihouette challenge but I like this one so much I decided to leave it as it is and not lose the colour.

Here are my other posts taken on the same evening in the same place.

Amazing work
What a beautiful photo @gillianpearce! I think it was a wise choice to "leave it as is". The darkness of the grasses up front, placed against the colors of the sunset and water is really very stunning.
I've gotten away for photo posts but I've been thinking how I'm missing them; this post of yours solidifies that!
Hope you are well. I saw on Asher's post today that you have a retreat of sorts this week, so I hope that goes well!
Thanks @lynncoyle1. I'm very well, yes and thoroughly enjoying being in Devon.
I'm off on retreat in about an hour and hoping to be able to check in at least once a day but it will be a new experience for me. I'm used to hopping on and off every time I have a spare moment but the break is much needed!
The photography is a great relaxant for me. I love going out and looking for opportunities because I see so much detail I would normally miss. And it brings me back to the present.
This photograph is a perfect example. The weather was gorgeous and I knew there were good sunset opportunities so we went out specifically for the shots. If I wasn't posting on Steemit I doubt we would have bothered. And we would have missed a very beautiful evening.
Heaps of love as always. 💜
That's a great way to look at it @gillianpearce; it's interesting that we so often need a purpose to just go out for a nice walk and look at things, but I'm so glad you do it!
The break will be nice; curious to hear about your retreat too...if you're going to share it.
Heaps of love right back ❤️
I'm hoping to share bits of the retreat as I go but I'm a bit short on time @lynncoyle1.
I'm not going to get to all my comments let alone a load of posts. What I do post will be more picture stories I suspect.
It's a retreat a friend of mine has been running for some time now and has wanted me to come since the beginning. However, it was always in shared accommodation before.
I told here as soon as she ran one in a place I could have my own room and bathroom I would come. And this it it! 😊
It's based around something called The Three Principles and, to be honest, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my friend. I get bored with all the talking. To me it's more about how you apply them in your life than theorising and story telling.
That doesn't really tell you much does it but I'm sure you can find out more if you're interested. 😂
It tells you the important bit though, as to how I came to be here! 😁
Wishing you a peaceful day. 💜
Oh my what an absolutely beautiful view. What a wonderful photo, this most definitely makes me miss living by the ocean. I lived on the coast of Washington State. I do so miss the view. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful photo. I will be checking out your other post you suggest from the same place.
Thank you @roverone. Glad you like it.
Where about's did you live on the coast of Washington State? I lived in Seattle for a short time. 😊
Wow that is really cool I was on the coast about 3 hours south of Seattle right on the ocean, Ocean Shores to be exact. I now live in the north eastern corner of Washington it could not be more different. I live in a small town of Colville by the Canadian border and close to Idaho. It has its beauty but its not the ocean..
Yeah. I remember that @roverone. How different Washington State is when you go east and cross the mountains. It's like a another state altogether.
The coast is so beautiful there I can see you would miss it. I hate to live away from the sea now. Not sure I could do it! 😁
