So it seems like you must be planting these beech at just the right age for this, but what is the story for this field? Is this an old farm field? It seems very open! Did you have to weed whip it first?

I work on the clear-cuts, reforesting. Not much ground preparation. The loggers leave and there is a little clean up of branches etc, then I plant it. The seedlings come from nursery.

I estimate the spacing. It doesn't have to be so precise, more important is to keep the line, so when they cut the weeds later, they can follow the tree lines and not kill your seedlings.
