RE: Birds can navigate by using the Earth’s magnetic field, and scientists have recently discovered a protein in the eye that is likely responsible for this ability

Waoooooooo🤓
This is the best I have learnt this morning.
Mist times I also do wonder how these birds are able to return home after been set free from their cage.
I usually set my bird free every morning by opening the cage. Only for them to return later in the evening. This discovery is really fascinating an I am glad to read this lovely explanation.
Even Though it is still a hypothesis, I quite agree with it.
Thanks @valth it really calmed my curiousity

While this is one of the major reasons why they are able to return to their cages in the evening, let's also not forget that many species of birds have excellent eyesight and memory, and can navigate with this as well :)
