THINGS TO CONSIDER FOR BREEDING YOUR PIGEONS!!!

in #nature7 years ago

Peace be upon every brother and sister.
Now, training or taming your pigeons and taking care for your pigeons while breeding them are totally different.Just buying a pair will not do it.I am no expert but I guess I can share some knowledge about things to consider for breeding your pigeons. If you still don't get the topic, I mean what should you do before and after you breed your pigeons.Okay then, now that we know the the topic we're gonna talk about, time to move on.

Before Breeding
Make sure you buy the perfect pair.Avoid weak and sick pigeons and yeah, make sure male and female are confirmed in that pair. Some sellers are so idiot that they will tell you male and female are confirmed in the pair. But after a while, you will find that there are two males or two females in there.Only buy pigeons from trustworthy person.Healthy pigeons will be super active and fighting with other pigeons.Healthy parents will give healthy offspring. And yes, if your pigeons is mismarked, the chicks will also be mismarked. So please be sure to get pigeons with perfect patterns.Next, you must provide enough sunlight to your pigeons.Sunlight is the medicine to many diseases of pigeons. But don't keep them in sunlight for too long during hot times like Summer.Make sure that the cage or the loft has enough air flowing through. Not too much and not too less. You must give your pigeons enough privacy of their own.Don't disturb them and let the do their things freely.

After Breeding
Once you pigeon pair is mated, do not disturb the female pigeon. The male pigeon will start to make a nest.I suggest you to give a nest bowl inside the cage.It make them more comfortable when laying and incubating their eggs.

Or you can put some sticks in front of the loft or cage and your pigeons will pick them up and make their nest on their own.

Nest bowl is the perfect choice for fancy pigeon breeders. After first mating, the hen pigeon will lay her
first egg in eight to ten days and eggs will take upto 18 days to hatch.Make sure your pigeons don't take bath after laying eggs.Protect the eggs from any type of contact with water.Make sure you give your pigeons good quality grit.It help them digesting.Keep the loft or cage clean.Provide enough amount of water and seedmix.Yeah, don't feed your only one type of seed.Mix various kinds of seeds together and feed them to your pigeons.Don't touch the eggs too often. You can check the egg with candle or with your mobile's flash light to see if the egg is fertile.Check twice a week.Even if the eggs are not fertile, wait 20 days before removing them.Sometimes, your pigeons will remove the infertile eggs by themselves.Don't change the place of eggs.Pigeons can smell and they remember the smell of the place where they laid eggs. So, if you change the place, they might start ignoring their eggs.So please be careful.
I really pray to Allah swt. that you become a successful pigeon breeder and may your pigeons always be healthy and active.
