Hi everyone! I just returned from a breathtaking week in Oregon for the eclipse. I was at the Oregon Eclipse Gathering with many of my friends, building and working in the Permaculture Plaza and Teahouse. I am still in a process of integration from the past week, and I am excited to share my experience with you all soon. Today I want to share some of my notes that I found from last year's Bioneers conference. The notes are from Kenny Ausubel's opening talk. The messages that he shared resonate with me during this powerful time post-eclipse.
The deepest power that we possess is imagination.
Nature is healing and regenerative. We can use nature to heal nature, and in doing so we can heal ourselves.
Ecological healing and social justice are one in the same - we must have one to have the other.
We are in a new age of consciousness in which we realize that we are all connected with each other and nature.
We have to start intersecting our purposes - the gender movement has to meet the Black Lives Matter movement has to meet the Indigenous Peoples movement.
When you hear the term "free economy", ask yourself if free is a verb.
We are all indigenous earthlings and need to enforce rights for nature.
If we have inalienable human rights, should nature have inalienable rights as well?
Scientists are starting to talk like shamans and shamans are starting to talk like scientists.
The scientific revolution was the movement of learning from the intelligence in nature.
Natural systems already know what choices to make, we just need to humble ourselves enough to observe them.
We did not come into this world, we came out of it.
We are intelligent because we came out of an intelligent world.
Woowww, Nature is very beautiful and unique. Indonesia is also a lot of beautiful nature.

The reason humans are so unhealthy and unhappy is because of their disconnection with natural living and nature.
We do not exist without nature, we are made of it. Thus all humans are doing is forsaking them selfs.

Interesting read, it's lovely seeing the paradigm change & re-awakening happening in the world. I loved the "we did not come into this world, we came out of it" reminder, so true!
That's the reason why I live in the jungle in east side of Big Island ... just being surrounded by the light rain, palm trees, and grass fields is just calming for my mind, in the midst of all of the work and life obligations that I have. We quickly forget that life obligations are just "human made up" stuff, while nature will always be around regardless if humans are here or not.
Where were you at in Oregon??
Nice piece. true, nature has a way of self-healing. BTW, I can't remember the last time I witnessed an Eclipse in this part of the world; maybe when I was a kid. Or maybe it happened, and I was not aware, Lol..

Nature is a deposit from our children and grandchildren, we should be preserving it to be able to preserve nature to avoid the disaster and nature damage that gives effect to us as human being in nature.

I saw the eclipse at the Garden of the Gods in Shawnee National Forest! These are some really cool photos and irrigation techniques. "We did not come into this world, we came out of it." :D

Nice one! Nature got to the right choices by making a lot of wrong ones, much like we do. We can skip some of our own wrong choices by listening to nature.

It seems a majority of the people have forgotten or choose to ignore that. We should take much better care of nature and not continue to degenerate the very source of our sustenance.
