#475 - At Siargao's Cloud 9 surfing spot.

A pleasant Wednesday evening my fellow Hiveans. It's sunny the whole day and starts the evening with a bit of rain showers. I saw this post circulating online wherein a group of tourists visit Panglao's Virgin island Bohol and they ask a certain food stall or something to cook several viands for them and it turns out the bill reached more than $500 which is too expensive already here in the Philippines. I can attest that in Siargao, my wife and I only paid for an entire tour for about $100 which included lunch with a lot of viands like sea foods and pork in it. I have never been to Bohol but if that is the kind of attitude most business owners do to tourists then they may soon lose a lot more when no one wants to visit their province anymore because of bad reviews. I hope the local government will penalize those abusive businesses and probably revoke their permits also because they may have been doing this kind deceitful act long before. Some people also commented that the tourists should have asked for the pricing before they made the orders, yeah they have a point..but it's still overpriced and no business should charge their customers like that in a way that it causes too much damage to the reputation of their area or province. Now, people are voicing out negative comments and their experiences in the past which was similar to this recent events. See, it has been going on for a while now and gladly someone posted it in social media and it caught they eyes of the local legislators and will pursue and investigation on the matter.

Alright, enough salt there and let's move on to a place where it's cheap to eat and travel their islands.. I am talking about Siargao. That $500 meal in Bohol can keep me in Siargao for more than a week give or take. I know places here to eat where its cheap, just before the entrance of Cloud 9 there are eateries there where a viand can only cost $1 with rice already 😉. That's where we eat our breakfast and dinner in several occasions of our stay in this beautiful island. This photo shows the wooden pathway or the boardwalk where it leads to a three storey skeletal wooden house built in the sea water. The view there is breathtaking because you can see the sea in a high elevation and also the sunrise and sunset from up there. The wife is showing a pose here right after we arrived on the island.

Then we went to the surfing spot which is hidden along the shores because of the thick coconuts covering the island. There were tourists here from different parts of the country and from different countries who want to experience the waves and the island.

The wife posing once again and behind here are the waves which surfers want to experience. It's a long walk going there because just right at the shore there are these stones and the water level here is also low. The surfers need to walk for a few hundred meters to get to the deep part of the sea and ride the waves.

The shoreline is also full of coconut trees hence the wife decided to pose in the these two coconuts. I wish the local government can put back the boardwalk which was destroyed during a typhoon.
