#446 - Trying the Igorot Costumes and a view of the city of pines and La Trinidad from a mountain.
Great Monday evening once again my fellow awesome Hiveans. I felt sleepy the whole day because we were tired during the past two days of our adventures in the highlands of Cordilleras. We didn't have enough sleep when we left Metro Manila at 4am then we slept in Baguio at around 10 in the evening because we wanted to maximize all the time we stay there. Then we woke up at 5am to prepare our meal and at the same time ready to depart and see the rest of the places we missed the first day we arrived. We had to check out early because we don't want to go back to the transient house we stayed as it will consume time travel and we are on schedule to go back to Manila before lunch time so we can be home early.
And for our photos of the day, here we have a shot which were taken last time we went to this city. They have a place where there is a Grotto and more than hundred of steps to get to the very top. So those people who climb the stairs will have a challenge getting to the top especially for elderly people. But there is also a road that leads to the top where cars are allowed and they can drop off their passengers who can't walk up the ladders.
There is also a place where local elderly women offer to wear their traditional costumes with a small amount of money and then you can take photos. That is why my wife and son are wearing the costumes. Behind them is a replica of the nipa hut which their ancestors have built to survive the elements. Up to now this kind of hut is still used in most part of the rural areas here the Cordillera region.
And another day of our previous stay. My wife asked to climb a mountain just outside the city. She only knew about it in some blogs where the place gives a great view of the city and it's adjacent neighboring town of La Trinidad Benguet.
So we packed a bag with the some clothes which we will and water and grab a taxi which drive us there is less than thirty minutes. Then we climbed and got to the top of the mountain in less than an hour and welcomed the sunrise and also took photos of the areas of Baguio city which are visible from up that mountain.
Then there's also some couple of shots showing the areas of La Trinidad and one of the easily spotted area is the strawberry farm where those areas not covered by houses are like green houses. We also went here yesterday and there's a lot of visitors coming here to pick strawberries and also buy other veggies and souvenirs.
