Fraser island is the sixth largest island in Australia, with 1840km square it is the larger island in Queensland.
The wild life is abundant on it with several reptiles, amphibians, salt water crocodiles. Few mammal species, and birds.
Rainforest, swamps, mangrove and eucalyptus woodland with awesome sand dunes make the island a perfect place to enjoy the Earth wilderness.
More than 100 freshwater lakes that are part of the cleanest in the world provide the basics of life on the island for the wildlife.
Dingoes are now decreasing on the island even though their pure bloodline. The Australian government recently started to protect visitors against dingoes pack by fencing camp areas, dinner areas, trash areas...
Being heritage-listed makes the island a place not to miss if you decide to explore the australian east coast!
I hope you enjoyed it!
Beautiful pictures! Wow! I hope to visit here one day
nice pics..
Thank you!
Did the dingo eat your baby? :o
Looks like Ancapistan to me!
;) It could be!
Nice ones!
Thanks
Looks stunning there. I'm making so many Aussie friends lately by living in SE-Asia that I'm almost forced go there.
Come here!!! :)
I use to work on a trawler out of Bundaberg and we would fish for Tiger prawns around Fraser island. The amount of Tiger sharks in the waters around Fraser island is one of the scariest things I have ever seen....Nice photos
Yeah do not go for a swim!
Lovely place, thanks for sharing.
amazing place.. where is this?
Not far from Brisbane... Look at the map! We have access to it by ferry from Harvey bay and Rainbow beach ;)
i may not have a chance to see this awesome place but you did a good job showing what's unseen beauty this place has..very diverse ecosystem right there!
You will have the chance in a near future! I can see you enjoying it ;)
I lived in Redcliffe down the coast for a year - it looked out on Moreton Island - I often wondered what that island was like - all I knew about it was that it was a really good fishing ground at the ocean side of the island
I visited Bribie Island further up the coast from Redcliffe, but never made it up to Frazer Island
Hi, I was there myself, and it was a beautiful island! I just published a blog from that trip :)
Great pictures!
Haven't been there but on my list, thanks for the post!
