Uhh, mint is really good!

Agreed. Jah bless

Oh maaaaannnn this is my kind of post!!! As we are gardening today we are listening as always to Radio Scratch on Tune In Radio app... constant reggae...best music to garden to, let alone drink tea to! Awesome post.

I love listening to music when I garden. The person next to me listens to ABBA, reggae is definitely better.

Omg I hate ABBA.

Thanks. It's not the only natural medicine I use, so I imagine I will be back (I'm going to a ginseng festival soon).

A very good post, thanks!!

Thank you and jah bless my friend!

Processing mint with Reggae in the background isn't the first thing we think of when coming to ReggaeSteem, but whatever makes your tea leaves dry faster ;) suprised you didn't tag #mint. I was growing Apple Mint this year and it just didn't work out the way I wanted it to. No Mohitos for me.

Posted via ReggaeSteem | Reggae Culture Rewarded

Good idea. I have long dreamed of trending on the #mint page.
I'm just not sure if this post has what it takes.
I listen to reggae often enough, especially when doing stuff around the house. I suppose I could have posted about using my sweet new Jayson vacuum cleaner.

If those tunes didn't satisfy you, try this track:

It's not really good tea leaf work music though. Better for cooking.

Mint and reggae go down well for me...;) xxx

Me too. Glad I found someone with a common interest =)

That’s a great effort to harvest and dry the leaves. I love my mint tea too. Nowadays I like to harvest and make a mix of chocolate mint, thyme, lemon balm and stevia.

Adding stevia and lemon balm sound nice. I tried stevia for the first time recently when I visited my father's place. Maybe I'll grow some next season. I've seen chocolate mint, but I just stick to the OG stuff.

I knew it. Wonderful news and see you again at 350

Great post, welcome to reggaesteem, good to have you here.
Interesting to see the process for drying and storing mint. I saw that news about microplastics shed from teabags - an eye-opener. Even paper teabags appear to have microplastics involved in them. Time to go back to a teapot and loose leaf tea.
I usually use mint fresh from the garden if I make tea. I hadn't thought about drying it through the growing season. I am planning a small pot in the outhouse through the winter, though :)
Interesting the effect music had on us, thanks for sharing your gardening tunes.
Congratulations on 300 posts!

Thanks so much. I've been lurking in the community a lot because I love the music and the food.

Avoiding microplastics is really important. It can quickly make something that is healthy and natural the opposite.
Drying tea is important where I live because I cannot grow anything outside during the winter season. I do grab some and pot it, but that is only good for garnishes. I drink a lot of tea.

So I knew nothing about your garden and you absolutely surprised me with this post. Need some mint to stay more attentive and remember what people write.

First morning without coffee for quite a while. Made some tea...from a paper bag, becasue lazy, lazy, lazy.

I prefer mint in the evening and fine it helps me focus better than coffee which only keeps me awake in a zombie state.

Generally I write about my actual garden once a momth. I'm about due for an update. I really changed it for fall vegetables.

I have several patches of mint growing in my yard. I usually get a few sprigs for mojitos or harvest a small batch to make homemade greenies for my dogs.

Mojitos are good. Maybe I will have one tonight.

I just grabbed another large bag of mint and I'm drying it now. My house smells so fresh.

I'm not sure what dog greenies are. Maybe mint has benefits for dogs too?

Yesssss this is the only one I drink, but I don’t dry I put in a fresh piece in my tea so not dried

Indo like a frssh mint especially in drinks and tea, too. However, sometimes dried must do.

In summer I put two mint leaves into water and freeze them into cubes for my ice water the mint gives a fresh taste immediately

Wow, that's a really good idea. I'm going to try it out.

I process my herbs much the same way as you do, except I send them all through the Excalibur. I can control the temp and they stay real dry until I can vacuum seal them in jars.

If I tried to dry them as you do, they would mold here. We have real high humidity except in winter. I also use hay mulch under the herbs and this keeps all the dirt off them.

Fall and winter are low humidity here. have a similar machine with timer, fam, and temp control. For herbs its always low temp.
Vacuum seal sounds good. I just throw it in a jar and keep bulk in sealed baggies.

Reggae has the right beat to get anyone going, interesting to learn how you make your tea, this is first on the list for trying out when my stash grows again with the rainy season on the horizon.

I have so much mint I don't know what else to do with it. Maybe I have found what I grow best. I hope the rain treats you well.

As soon as the rain comes the mint grows, yup also something in the garden one does not need to worry with, great to learn how to make tea from the abundance of plants when they arrive. Only ever used them fresh after washing the leaves through.

I'll have to put on some good tunes next time we start putting together our dried mint and lemon balm for tea! I was actually debating about getting empty bags to make tea for holiday gifts, but I was worried about the environmental aspect. There are some bags made from organic materials. However it does still seem a bit wasteful to me. Perhaps I will just buy some jars instead and make labels for them so that way we can still give the gift, but then everyone can use their own favorite method of steeping. We have a few of the little metal strainers ourselves, so it is never a problem for us to have loose tea.

People keep mentioning lemon balm. It's definitely going in my garden next year.

I think getting some glass jars is a great idea. People can boil and strain.

I am growing mint all over as well. We have a year-round growing climate so I like to go and pick mine fresh for teas. For some reason, I prefer the fresh leave taste and it is less work LOL

I'm jealous of the all round growing season.
One day I plan to get a decent set up on my balcony to atleast grow herbs and lettuce all year long.

Yes, it’s a lot of work.
But I agree with you that it's worth it!
What is grown with your own hands is always tastier and healthier!

Definitely. I really like the control. Nothing is going in there that I don't want in there and I can trust myself more than the friendly folks at the supermarket.

I like to drink black tea with mint and lemon)) And bite a cake =)

Black tea is great. I've added lemon before but I haven't thought about adding mint. I will have to try that.

I love mint, I have two plants and I've been fighting a little with them for a while, the mint tea is delicious, I think I'll take these tips you give here!

Thanks. I hope you win the fight.
I grow my mint in the worst places or near where other people are likely to damage stuff since it grows so well.

@abitcoinskeptic, Herbal Tea 🍵 is so refreshing and it holds Nature's Touch. Combination of Herbal Tea and Reggae Music is perfect time to spent.

I agree 110%. It enhances the effects.

Yes. Have an abundant time ahead.

Cheers!
I don't really like the taste of mint tea too much.
But I do like a mojito every once in a while.
The mint in my garden is a real pain at some places. Had a plant in the herb spiral like 5 years ago, and I still need to pull new plants out weekly.... There aren't as many plants as invasive as mint is :0)
