We're super excited this week to offer our first challenge as @naturalmedicine. We've been so thrilled with the use of this tag over the last few days, and have really got the sense that natural remedies and healings are important to so many of you.
We knew we'd run a competition this week to get word out about this community, and talking to you all really solidified the question we'd pose for this contest:
Here @naturalmedicine, we are absolute advocates of natural healing and also respect the research that has gone into these modalities. We ask that you share a detailed glimpse into how natural medicine has impacted your life.
Posts will be judged on
- quality of entry (length, photos, intrigue of personal story)
- any studies linked to the efficacy of this type of healing
- detail of post
- formatting and photographs
- following the rules below.
It can be a small change, or a big one. It can be an old story, or a new one. It might even be the impact a natural medicine has made to someone you know and love. This week already we've seen the effects CBD has on anxiety, how nature heals a wounded heart, and how chaga led to love and happiness. We're not particular about the type of natural healing, only that it's been a remedy in some way for your mind, body and spirit.
We'd love to know your stories - the personal, the moving and the profound.
We'd also love to know a little bit of the science behind your natural medicine - is there any research that supports it's benefits?

No no you don't absolutely need to explain the science and given you a professional that lectures in TCM your post would carry an authority all of its own. I am probably too late for you contest, but that is fine. I LOVE Herbal medicine, and use it heavily. I just finished three posts on how to make Comfrey Tincture. Here are the links:

Comfrey is a vulnerary which means it accelerates healing by encouraging cell division. The active ingredient is Allintoin which stimulates hyaluronic acid which is the mortar the body uses to bind cells together. I find that a fomentation of a Comfrey Tincture, left on overnight, sealed to stay moist, does wonders with joint and muscle damage. A bruise will disappear overnight under the same treatment. The single best use of Comfrey Tincture is treating arthritis, it is very successful at that. All of this is well documented, but I found one other use that is NOT in the Books.
Since Comfrey stimulates hyaluronic acid production, which is the mortar the body uses to bind cells together, I decided to try it on a brown Recluse spider bite (actually seven of them) That a sweet Lady from my church was unlucky enough to receive. She went to her MD, he sent her home with pain medicine, and antibiotics to reduce the rot. I based this treatment on the fact that the Recluse venom destroys the same hyaluronic acid that Comfrey stimulates. I hoped to minimize the tissue death, by supplying some replacement acid. What I found was that the Comfrey actually make hyaluronic Acid faster than the venom can destroy it. Her bites, except a pimple where the first bite occurred, were gone the next morning. The pimple was gone the second morning. I have tried this twice more with identical results.
NOW, it Should work for snake bites, because they act the same way; but I thankfully have been unable to try this! I hope I never need to, but the theory is sound!

Sorry, But I thought it looked good at the top, LOL! Is this acceptable for me to include on future herbal posts (I will put it at the bottom)? I use herbs for 100% of my medicine now, and My Wife is down to just a couple of Prescriptions.
I make all my own capsules, and have begun growing my own herbs on the new land We just bought.

One clarification, do you mean the liquid half of the rewards? Its pretty technical, but because of the current high debt load we are getting very little sbd right now and mostly liquid steem for our liquid half of the payout.
