We can't believe we're in our third celebration this week. How AWESOME is that! It's actually been super hard to gather because many of them have been written in response to our contest - you've got until the 15th to get yours in, so if you haven't yet, take a swig of kombucha or herbal tea and start telling us how natural medicine affected your life thus far! We are looking at offering two Steemians a prize. Given the state of Steem at the moment and the fact we're not getting paid out in SBD, we'll give you pure Steem - around 5 Steem a post! Now when the market goes up, that's not a bad winning!
Without further ado, here's this week's awesomeness. Go give them some love - they deserve it, just for posting when things are so tough in the Steemiverse at the moment!
Firstly, we have a fabulous post on goldenseal written by @coinsandchains, who found no less than 60 remedies for goldenseal in his book collection!
He writes:
"In the books pictured I stopped counting at 60 different things that Goldenseal has been used to treat. Most of the books had 3 to 6 pages dedicated to the uses of Goldenseal. On those pages, I found treatments for everything from drug addiction therapy(system cleansing), to rashes, to menstrual issues, and even treating cancer."
Goldenseal is also a favourite of @mountainjewel's, who was so excited to find it growing wild on her property this year.
@trucklife-family is a huge supporter of natural medicines and we love her musings on nature and trees in particular. In this post she celebrates apple trees. Not only does she write about the medicinal power of apples, but their spiritual significance too. She writes:
The apple tree is the 10th Tree of the Tree Ogham. The apple Tree is all about abundance, it teaches us to give with an open heart, to trust in the fact that when we allow ourselves to commit fully to something, then when we put our heart into projects, into our dreams, then we can create them and on top of that we will be replenished. The apple tree gives so much fruit and holds so much medicinal value that it is speaking out to us to give in order to receive, to celebrate what we have and to share in our abundance. We have all heard that in order to receive, we have to be open to receiving. Let our generosity overflow like the apple tree and in time you will see that you have opened the door to receiving. Allow ourselves to bring abundance into our lives, let go of any feelings that hold you back, because you are worthy, Affirm and be thankful for all that you have in this present moment.
@jackdub's posts are great, as he includes little gifs in them. He's on the lookout for anyone who can talk on his radio show about making medicine's out of herbs, so if that's you, please come and drop him a line via the @naturalmedicine discord channel.
@mudcat36 wrote a cool little post about psilocybin as a means of treating depression. Go give him a warm welcome - he has just discovered the #naturalmedicine tag.
He writes:
So what's the point in pointing all of this out? Well a popular belief in modern medicine is that consuming etheogens or hallucinogenics is some sort of chaos gamble. The cult of convention pushes the belief that these chemicals are some sort of foreign agents that have no place in our neurochemistry. When we consider the fact that the pineal gland has more serotonin than anywhere else in the body, and that the pineal gland has the ability to convert serotonin into DMT we begin to get a different picture. Your brain was outfitted for these molecules. Sit with that for a moment.

What a lovely selection of posts from amazing Steemians! I'm loving this tag and channel so much ❤❤❤
@naturalmedicine this has really been inspiring. It's special finding out what gets each of us onto this journey. Such testimonials! And - again - I nearly missed it. Will have to get my proverbial little ducks in a row and write my own post. Tick. Tick. Tick
Don't you mean getting your goats in order?
Thank you we have been inspired and impressed as well exclamation mark

Funny! I wanted to say that....but not everyone knows about my goats
