RE: The forgotten art of Childbirth - simplicity & joy replaced by statistics & fear

in #natural7 years ago (edited)

Yeah this is such a great post. it's so nice to hear birth from a man's perspective and for people to recognize birth as the sacred act it is.

All too often we hear negative birthing stories, but there are so many amazing empowering birth stories out there too. I have had 2 homebirths and my last baby was born unassisted on our land.
I feel very passionate about birth and feel so strongly that we need to help women overcome this fear they have. I've started to write about that on here, with the idea of trying to understand where the fear has come from but from there Looking at ways to release that fear and allow women to experience birth the way it is meant to be.
You are so right about not being told to push, so many people are so badly educated when it comes to birth. But women's bodies know exactly what to do, when given the space to allow our primal brain to take over we can and do birth our babies.
Thanks so much for telling us about @iamjamie, will definitely check out her blog. Resteemed
