Di waduk ini, pengunjung bisa menikmati semilir angin, udara segar yang bagus untuk kesehatan. Sehingga, obyek ini juga kerap dijadikan lokasi olahraga warga kota. Saban pagi dan sore hari, masyarakat berlari-lari kecil mengitasi waduk.

Di situ berbagai jenis ikan dan udang mudah ditemui. “Setiap akhir pekan saya memancing pagi hari di waduk ini,” sebut Muhammad, warga Lhokseumawe.Dia bersama lima temannya serius memancing. Ikan itu bukan sekadar untuk konsumsi. Terkadang, jika mujur, mereka mendapat puluhan kilogram ikan yang bisa dibagikan untuk suadara dan tetangga.
Bagi anda pemburu sunset, duduklah di kawasan waduk ini. Maka pancaran kuning jingga jelang matahari tenggelam terlihat sangat indah dan mempesona. Dari balik puncak gedung Islamic Center Lhokseumawe itu matahari akan sirna perlahan. “Sangat indah sunset dan sunrise jika di lihat dari sini,” ujar Ratih sembari menikmati jagung bakarnya.
