Try Nasturtium for Edible Flowers

in #nasturtium7 years ago

Nasturtium ( Tropaeolum majus ) is one of the easiest annual plants to grow in your garden. Not only will it reward you with masses of colourful flowers, but you can also add the flowers to salads for a wonderful mustard-like flavour. They also have other medicinal uses. The seeds of Nasturtiums are about the same size as peas, so are easy to handle and you can sow the seed in the direct position where you want the plant to grow. Just bury the seeds down a centimetre in the soil and keep the soil moist until they germinate. Plant them in full sun for best results. The photo was taken in Sydney and shows Nasturtium plants trailing over rocks with Lavender plants beside them.
