- Mark Vande Hei and Norishige Kanai leave the interior of the International Space Station for more than five hours to review one of the robotic arms of the station
- A Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Spanish satellite Paz
For more than five hours, the crew members of the Expedition54, Mark Vande Hei of NASA and Norishige Kanai of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency will leave the International Space Station (ISS), this Friday February 16, with the aim of reviewing one of the robotic arms of the station, the Canadarm2.
The NASA website retransmits the spacewalk live from 11:30 p.m. Spanish time, which can also be seen on this screen, to follow the adventure of these two astronauts during the time they remain outside the ISS. To distinguish them, Vande Hei will wear the suit that has red stripes, while the Kanai suit will be plain.
Kanai - who will make the first spacewalk of his career and become the fourth astronaut to walk in space according to a NASA statement - is expected to follow Vande Hei out of the Quest lock, once they have left behind the Station. This walk will be the fourth in Vande Hei's career. Both have trained extensively for this adventure.
