What do we really want?

I'm so sorry if recently I've been boring you with details about Nigerian politics and challenges.

one thing I know for sure is that things have to change, I may not know how to directly influence this change; even if I do I may not have the empowerment to but good thing we have the internet today and social media. Everyone has a vocie So I will keep talking, and keep writing hoping that one day someone will read who will be propelled by my words to make and take the right steps towards creating positive change in our Nation. Only then will o be truely fulfilled.

I am moved to ask a simple question of the citizens of Nigeria "What do we really want"?

you see its a challenge when you have a need and you have no clue whatsoever what that need is. Its like going to the market without knowing what you want to buy and what you need to buy, you will end up buying what you do not need. We have been clamoring for change for a while now but strangely we do not know what sort of change we need. Nigeria for the past ten years have been moving in circles ( I do not stand corrected). Its been from one ditch to another, no notable change has been seen and sadly we are treading the same line.

Recently a bill called #nottooyoungtorun was passed by the President Mohammed Buhari this bill directly abolishes the age limitation that allows for the younger generation to be able to run for political positions in Nigeria. surprisingly, when the President who's over 70years old signed the billed he made a statement immediately and said "you guys should not run against me o, wait for 2023" this shows that it was not his initial intention to sign this bill and also thus many might say he said it jokingly but there's a element of seriousness in his statement. I found this statement to be a rather selfish one but my words for the president is not in todays' post as I will be writing an open letter directly addressed to him in a few weeks.

The problem I have with the youths is that they do not seem to have a direction as to what they want to do to bring about this change. I did a quick survey two months ago where I went out talking to young people about the situation of the country and afterwards 98% of the youths I talked to seem to know what the problem what but on 10% had meaningful solutions to these problems or had an idea whatsoever on what to do.

Now I see why people can agitate for change and later campaign for someone they know doesn't have their interest at heart just for a cup of rice and N5,000. How easily have we sold our rights to a free and fare election for mundane things.
Now I can categorically say to you that the youths are not ready for change. aThisbis the same reason why the old folks have continually deprived us from what is rightfully ours all we do it shout about it and they call us secretly and shut us up with large envelops ✉.

A generation without direction is like a madman roaming the streets without knowing where to go or where he came from.

#Nottooyoungtorun campaign is a fluke and until the youths wake up we are just rabble rousing in 2019. AThis is one of the reasons the president called us "lazy" a few months ago this statements attracted different views and reactions from people including the youths. After much deliberations I'm afraid to agree with the president that Nigerian youths are lazy. We are not physically lazy but mentally decapasitated.

The young people of Nigeria need to come out and begin to ask ourselves deliberate questions that concerns our hope moving forward, because eif we continue like this hmm.... I rest my case.
