Zoo Lights - Show Us Your California

in #mycalifornia23 days ago

Hi friends,

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @thesocalhive where we share an aspect of our California.

With the holidays upon us, there are a number of ways to enjoy some holiday lights. One unique way is the zoo lights that are put on by the Los Angeles Zoo. My family and I were able to go and check them out recently, take a look:

It was a beautiful night to walk around, albeit a little chilly for Southern California. My only complaint was that most of the zoo animals were asleep so you couldn’t see them. Granted, it’s not about the animals and is solely about the lights… I just think that if you are at the zoo you should be able to see some of the animals. Oh well, guess I will have to go back during the daytime!

Thanks for coming by and checking out a piece of my California.

Brian

Yes, we were sleeping.

An interesting zoo

Have you been there during the daytime? I've never been there, I'm curious how this compares with the San Diego zoo.

Good pictures of the lights, thanks for sharing!

The kids look really happy in the picture. I hope they must have been very happy seeing the Los Angeles Zoo. The Los Angeles Zoo is also on my wish list,i will soon take my children there.

Looks like a fun visit, Even if the animals were asleep, the lights must have been amazing. A daytime visit sounds like a great idea to see them awake.

Congratulations, your post won 1st prize in this weeks Show us Your California contest!!

Brian! I said this to you, “LA zoo was really cool early in the morning also. Griffith Park and the Observatory are also cool little detours. Take a hillside hike up to the observatory. Years ago that was lots of fun. I don’t know about now.
Sidenote, I had a lot of fun doing donuts in the parking-lot before they close it all off about 18 years ago. I actually thought the space/area was a public service.
If you’re in that area again, check out a place called “corner cottage” on the weekdays. It’s a few blocks north of there, but, really good chicken tacos.
