Hey! steemians.
I want you to see the beauty of my city from a bird's eye view.
This is the stop footage from the not my video located on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb67O0IrDIk
I moved to the city of Irpen recently. Attracted is that it is located just 8 kilometers to the north-west of Kiev - the capital of Ukraine. The city is surrounded by coniferous forest, so Irpen is a climatic resort, where sanatoria and resorts are now functioning. In the center of the city the buildings of the 70s predominate, but modern houses are actively being built on the outskirts. I do not know whether it is allowed on the link to refer to a video made by another person, but I would like to show the city from a bird's eye view.
The appearance of Irpen directly concerns the construction of the Kiev-Kovel railway track. This line was part of the Southwest Railroad, which began to be built in the late 60's.
In 1903, the railway station Irpin was built. In the newly created settlement were quickly erected summer houses of the rich inhabitants of Kiev.
In the Kiev manual "Dachnyk" in 1909 it was written: "Irpen is a village that has a great future."
School, the technical school, the Orthodox church, the club, the cinema, and the post office with the telegraph appeared quickly. There was a bazaar, shops, cafes and restaurants. There were lights on the streets.
Crew carriages worked.
After the turbulent events of the revolution and the civil war of 1917-1920, most of the country houses in Irpin were nationalized. Many of them have become homes for rest and sanatoriums.
With the beginning of the 30s, many famous people began to come to Irpin for rest. A number of people of art and literature had their homes in the city.
In the city parallel development of industrial and resort areas. There were tourism and recreation bases.
With the onset of the Great Patriotic War in 1941, fighting took place on the territory of the city. As a result of the bombing, many houses and a railroad bridge across the river were destroyed. No less fierce was the struggle and during the liberation of the city in the fall of 1943. As archives show, in Irpin for a long time after the end of the war there was no electricity, the streets were broken, everywhere were the ruins of houses. Many locals did not return from the war front.
The city suffered as a result of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. The accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, with the subsequent classification of the city as a category of areas affected by radiation pollution, stopped the work of resorts and sanatoriums.
In the days of independent Ukraine in Irpin began active population growth due to the development of the city through multi-storied buildings. Last year, the city square was restored, a large, beautiful city park was built.
But my photos are connected with Kiev. Kiev is a beautiful ancient city, which is about 1200 years old. It was founded by three brothers: Kiy, Shchek, Horyv and their sister Lybidyu and was named after Kia, the elder brother.
In 882 Kiev became the capital of the Old Russian state (Kievan Rus) and in the X-XII centuries reached its heyday.
