Hello Steemian Friends!

A quick disclaimer, I'm no expert with Biñan City, Laguna so please bear with me with my little knowledge of the city that I have learned to love for the past years. As my title puts it, I am not a native of this beautiful city but has learned to love it (even more than where I grew up, if I must say).

I come to know Biñan because this is the city where the university I graduated in is located which is the University of Perpetual Help System - Laguna. Thanks to my alma mater, I have explored the beautiful city of Biñan during my free time. More so, I called it the city that adopted me because this is the place where I really felt at home and I belong. It is also where my hubby and his whole family and relatives lives in.

So let's start with the tour.

Quick History

- Alberto House

Biñan, Laguna was one of the town mentioned in the biography of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. He stayed at the Alberto House, the home of his aunt, together with his brother Paciano. Now, the house is still seen at its original place but already unkempt. I heard there is still an on-going issue with the Alberto House as it is perceived as a private property and not government property. The current owner wants it to be demolished but the government is trying its best to stop any abolishment of the house as it is historical.

A monument of Dr. Jose Rizal sits at the center of Biñan plaza.

- City of Biñan Museum

This is not to be political or anything but I really applaud the cultural, arts and historical projects of the current administration in my city. You see, as far as what I know, this is the first time Biñan opened a museum celebrating its cityhood and history. It felt good knowing the history of the place where I currently live.

Activities You Can Do

- Shopping!

These handmade products are made by the prisoners in our city jail.

There are also malls in the city too like Pavilion Mali and Central Mall. Fast food restaurnts such as McDonald's, Jollibee, Shakeys are also present in the city.

- Hear Mass

Our church, San Isidro Labrador Parish Church, is one of the landmarks in Biñan. You can hear mass, pray and simply meditate inside the church as it is very solemn inside.

- Go for a Swim

Splash Island is the place to be if you want to go for a swim and just have fun! It is a recreational park that has very affordable price rates and promos.

So there you go! This is the city I now call home, the city that adopted me, the city that I fell in love with - The City of Biñan Laguna.

All photos except the Splash Island photos are owned by Biñan City Culture, History, Arts and Tourism Office.
