What is your new year resolution

Emeka and his siblings were still very young when their parents got involved in a car accident which took both lives, chidinma their grand mother was so sad with the death of her son and daughter in law but she just have to swallow up the pain. Chidinma took in Emeka and his sisters Rose, Mary, and Rachael, she didn't inform the kids about the early death of their parents and she single handedly took good care of the four kids.
Chidinma is an indigenous farmer who believe so much in hard work and also in education, she believes that giving a child the best education is the child's right and it is of utmost priority to the child but she also believes that a certificate not backed up with hardwork will end up a tissue paper so from the early age of her grand kids she began to imbibe in them the mindset of an hardworking person.
Emeka siblings paid much attention to their grand mother's advice and they worked with it, but on the other hand Emeka believed so much in his certificate that if he comes out with the best grade companies would come looking for him. After his graduation, his grand mother offered him a piece of land to start up farming, she also gave him some amount of money but he refused the offer.
Emeka told himself I am the best in my class so I deserve a white collar job, he moved from one office to the other seeking for the best job. If a job is not offering the kind of salary he wanted he would not take the offer so Emeka search for job for more than seven years while his siblings were making exploit in their respective career they took outside what they studied in school.
Emeka was so stranded and worried, he has been living on the the meager offer his siblings has been giving to him. He said to himself I am tired of this kind of life, what we called the new year last time has come and his gone, 2017 is now last year still I have not yet made any improvement in my life.
Emeka sat down and wonder why he has been on one spot since after his graduation, it is not like somone is wishing me failure in life he thought to himself, then why no job yet. Why john was still sitting he remembered his grand mother's word "a certificate without hard work will end up as a tissue paper" this was when john realized to himself that he has been failing because of his unrenewed way of thinking, he said you can't be doing the same thing and expect a different result. John has been singing happy new year song without making a new year resolution but this time john made up his mind for a change. He changed his mind towards life, job and opportunities, he saw things differently from the way he used to see them. Emeka made a new year resolution to stop the search of job and face a new career, emeka began a new career in fashion design.
