In response to recent hate crime and bullying against Muslims due to islamophobia, we walked the streets of downtown Toronto to see the reactions of Canadians on what they think makes a Muslim.
The response was touching and inspiring.
In addition, to see peoples reaction to islamophobia we wrote the word "terrorist" (one of the few words Muslims have been called, myself as well in addition to other verbal attacks). Every single passerby who spoke to us was offended and apologetic to see the word.

I urge non-Muslims to learn about the true Islam. Pick up a Quran and learn for yourselves the truth. People may interpret any faith in how they choose to perceive it, but the Quran is the only unaltered message/scripture.

You say "I urge non-Muslims to learn about the true Islam". Well Muhammad did many things muslims don't do today. He had a sword, most muslims don't have it. He used to go to battles, most muslim people don't go to battles and wage jihad. Quran openly curses Jews and Christians, and that is not word of peace but hate. Muhammad didn't wage jihad behind keyboard, but on field, with many lives lost and taken in death - and in Quran Muhammad is described as best example for muslims.
Islamophobia is something many muslim believers hide their true goals with taqiyya, trying to protect islam. Nobody should hate muslims (and must not hate them), yet everybody should have right to criticize islam.
And islam teaches people to hate othes - teaches muslims to hate Christians and Jews, calling them in the Quran "worst of creatures":

I hope you will recognize that problem is with you muslims who don't condemn your own radical imams and teachers, you don't oppose them actually, you never publicly turn your finger to them, quote them and say "this is not correct", "we must not hate", or "we shouldn't curse Christians and Jews" instead you are rather quiet.
