Free speech would be great if it weren't for people.
We seem to refuse to believe that our culture is shifting to the dark side -- mostly because we refuse to accept others' beliefs that don't match our own.
Freedom only works with personal responsibilities and our culture has been choosing tribal loyalties over personal responsibility for quite some time now, fueled by political fearmongering.
Musk is tackling what may be an intractable problem, but then again, pushing back against things deemed impossible is his wheelhouse.
I hope he succeeds in getting it to work, because free speech is at the core of a free democracy, but from where I sit, biases are so deeply set, emotions are so incentivized to pick a side and throw rocks, that it could be a bigger challenge than space travel.
I wish him luck.
