RE: Musing Posts

Have you ever been robbed? If so, how was it? (also tell what country you are from)?

I live in Venezuela and daily robberies are seen, in fact yesterday 7 armed men entered my university, here is the day to day but I would like to know what country you are from and if that is also common there ...

I have ever. Physically, I was robbed, but this time it felt worse, while riding a motorcycle I was suddenly stopped by plainclothes police.

they said my motorbike was like a stolen motorbike, I was invited to the police office, but it turned out that it was not the police and instead took me to a quiet place. I was stabbed with a gun, then what I brought was taken.

I come from Malaysia.

WOW !!! what a bad time you must have spent.

My wife was a teller at a bank in the United States. She had a regular customer that came in one day with a note that said he had a bomb and she needed to give him all of her money.

She laughed at him at first because she didn't think he was serious. She eventually looked at the expression on his face and realized that he was indeed very serious. She gave him the money that was in her drawer and as soon as he left she let her supervisor know what had happened.

She was very shaken and her boss ended up giving her the day off after she had done the interviews with the authorities. Luckily because the person was a regular visitor of the bank she could tell the police exactly who it was and they caught him shortly thereafter.

That evening she want to the bar to unwind and her friend who also worked at the bank with her had the DJ play "You dropped a bomb on me".

I have been robbed a few times. Lots of times in the UK and a few times in South Africa.

The UK ones were easy as it was more sneaky crimes breaking into the car stealing my work stock. More of a nuisance than anything else. I tried to catch them a few times but the police force kept on buggering up.

The ones in South Africa though are totally different and you have to know what is going on.We had an attempted armed robbery a few years ago but they didn't make it past the gate on the kitchen door. It was as real as it gets.

The other times were break  ins when we weren't at home and they didn't get much. Crime is a fact of life hear and they wont hesitate to kill you. Every house has alarms and electric fences for protection plus a guard dog or two. Some have an armory of guns for protection but I have decided not to go that route. I can protect my family and will do whatever it takes.
