RE: Musing Posts

I have a different view from what others think. Mind you, I was very good with mathematics when I was growing up. I'm done with University now and may probably never have to write a mathematics examination again.

However, from what I've seen I can say that the reason why many students find mathematics difficult is due two pre-conceived notions.

Many a student grew up hearing their siblings or friends talking about how difficult the subject is. This registers in theirs subconscious that there can be no understanding the subject.

I personally believe that no subject cannot be understood. The frame of the mind of the student comes to play more often than they'd like to admit.

I personally loved mathematics during my high school days. I mean, I could go topics ahead of my class simply because I loved the way the formula always led to answers.

I had one principle then. If I can know and understand the formula, I can answer any question.

Most times, if the student can deal with the mindset that *Mathematics is difficult*, as in have a paradigm shift, they'll find there's always been a mathematical genius sleeping inside of them.
