One dish that I've been wanting to try for a long time is the Japanese fish Fugu. It's a type of puffer fish that has become an exotic, and sometimes deadly, delicacy in Japan. Infamous for its high price and deadly toxins, it is a dish that can only be prepared by licensed chefs after years of training. The training is necessary to make sure that those who handle the fish know how to properly detoxify its toxins, so it's safe to be consumed.
People say the Fugu fish has a unique taste, but most try it for the thrill. So, it is one of the dishes that I will want to try, if I have the chance. Although, to be honest, I probably will not be sure I will eat it until I am already sitting at the table and served the dish. It's not something you could eat lightly, after all.
Was about to post this dish too! We had been to Japan more than 20 times but had never dared to try the Fugu fish.
I know what you mean. I've only been there once but didn't dare try it. Maybe next time I visit? It's a bucket list item for sure, but it makes you wonder if it's going to be the reason you kick the bucket! Lol!
