Often times when i give advice it also serves as a self reminder. For example I'm quick to say that the best diet is a ketogenic diet, and what kinds of food to take and what to avoid. Even so, I've just eaten a hamburger last night (it was good).
I don't think it's fair to judge an advice by the person giving it. The message matters more than the messenger. Of course there is more authority when an advice is given by someone who actually has experience doing it.
There is a spectrum, the way i see it.. Some advice is known to many but not practiced by all. When someone says "be kind and forgiving" you wont expect the person giving it to be a true saint right? The advice is sound regardless of whoever gives it.
But if a person suddenly goes off saying "12 advice to making a Vlog with Million views" and then later i discover that guy have neither a vlog nor a million views, you'd think i'll listen to him?
giving advice isn't implying you are better than someone, it's okay to give advice that you don't necessarily follow if you first preface it.
But of course don't go talking like an expert just because you know some jargons.
