RE: Musing Posts

First of all, I would disagree with the statement because we have seen fair amount of wars due to ethnicity, land and power politics. Therefore, I won't label religion as the root of all the world problems. Hunger, lack of resources, poverty and climate change etc. have nothing to do with religion and these are some major problems we face.

Religion is the biggest source of spiritual comfort which is a fundamental need for every human being. I would agree that the world has also suffered due to religious intolerance but that's not the fault of the religion but of the people who follow it. When it comes to beliefs we human beings are intolerable. An average religious person never likes some critique of his beliefs and he wants his truth to be the only truth. I am a religious person, I have my own beliefs and they matter to me like nothing else but at the same time I'm open for a genuine critique on my beliefs. I may not be able defend my beliefs properly but still I can swallow someones logical and reasonable arguments against my beliefs and that only inspires me to dig deeper for the truth and I think that everyone should have that kind of tolerance. It only helps you strengthen you beliefs and make you closer to the truth.

If we can be tolerable about our religions then we can eliminate the danger of religious wars and focus on the real problems that we face today.

Thanks for reading.
