Yes I do get that feeling sometimes. I think you are right on target when you say that it is something akin to a sports arena. I also feel that as long as the competition is fair, then it might actually be good for us. Free markets are just that - Free.

Maybe it would be a good thing for the markets to thrive by the competitiveness of the people supporting their projects. I am obviously assuming that people supporting their projects are doing so because they understand its importance to the market.

There are so many things that government and centralized institutions are doing to slow the growth of crypto. Some of these reasons are:

1. The government and central banks have run propaganda campaigns against the crypto

2. The banking system can be used to manipulate the inflow and outflow of fiat from the cryptocurrency market and it is even now being abused to slow the growth of the crypto market

3. Crypto has been subjected to several unjustified regulations in the  markets all over the world (India is a prime example in this case)

Under the affect of these opposing forces, I think it is really good that the market is being so competitive internally. That being said, I won't deny that some this competitive spirit has taken a negative turn oni form of scams and sabotage.

Nope I don't actually. It's somewhat different. There are people who want CRYPTO to get adopted as fast as possible, and there are people who are profiting from the old systems so hard that they are doing everything in their power to slow it down as much as they can!

But it's nowhere near the football-fanatics since they simply want their team to beat the other team, they maybe grew up in certain area & blindly followed the club of that area, not realizing how that's an illusion to keep them entrapped

In crypto space on the other hand, everyone are very well aware of the power blockchain will bring to the world & rearrange it, hint decentralization so this is a bit different warfare

Much more tactical, so the example could be put on football coaches. They are the ones responsible for arranging the tactics, picking who'll play, deciding whether to go offensive or defensive - and that's what you see in crypto space today, that kind of tactisizing from the people who want it to grow asap, and from the people who want it to fall down many more times firstly so they can allocate themselves much more of that digital assets :D

But don't get me wrong, even the ones profiting from old systems like no one else are very much aware of the immense power of crypto, and while they are spreading BS (misinformation, propaganda & fear) don't you doubt it that they are buying that crypto daily! Soon as the price is bearish. so yeah - everyone have different motives, some hidden while some show them

Usually the ones with hidden motives are the ones who are allocating even more than the ones who are showing all the cards on the table :P just sayin'

For sure

Everyone has their favourite coin and will hype, vote, root for that one. There are also coins people don't like for whatever reason and will trash talk or spread FUD about either to destroy that coin or in the hope that it will improve their coin somehow

Your analogy to soccer fans is spot on
