Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture it’s true essence.
As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

It’s hard to believe this track is 50 years old next year!!!
Listening to this earliest and rarely seen version from 1969 earlier on today brought back so many memories, I was only 2 years old when it came out so I can’t remember a time when this song wasn’t in my mind, talk about a classic dude.....
David Bowie - Space Oddity.

Just awesome and timeless.
Hey @tremendospercy love Bowie and this is fantastic .. I don't think I've heard this version before and it's like being re-introduced to an old best friend from school you haven't seen in years!! What a man! What a life!! I still keep meaning to comb through his final album with an ear for hidden messages and wisdoms. Another inspired choice of musical genius my friend .. thank you for the music!!
Have you listen to Ludovico Einaudi?
He is a pianist, the first one I listen to one of his songs was when I was watching The intouchables movie, and his song "Fly" was the main song.
He has others that I invite everyone to check, like Una Mattina.
I think I introduced Einaudi on the very first music Monday.
His competition are truly awesome, I can listen to them over and over and each time they take me to a different place.
Magical......
Wow, that is superb, thanks for putting it up here.
Thank you for this @dedicatedguy I have been listening to Einaudi for a little while now .. in fact @tremendospercy introduced me on #musicmonday
What a stunningly beautful composition this is, I tell you what my friend .. the world can sometimes seem like a dark place, but as long as we're capabe of producing art and indeed music of such immeasurable beauty .. something tells it's all going to be alright. Thank you for such a brilliant choice of music.
Love me some piano
Love your selection this week...pf
As promised last week, I will follow up with a sweet and cool blues track:) Hope you enjoy my friend.
Gary B.B. Coleman - The Sky is Crying
Thanks my friend ... Ah man, what a brilliant choice @palikari123 this is like a comfort blanket that soothes away the aches and pains of a long day .. that guitar speaks to my soul and carries my thoughts away to a musical nirvana. Another inspired choice my friend, thank you for the music!
YES!!
Here is another band nobody knows about but they know the song for sure. Guitars are neat and the harmonies are great but this guys range right from the beginning of the song is NUTS! Try singing along with that non-falsetto. You would have to be him or Sting I suppose.
Happy monday broheem!
(Oh! Don't let it play the next song or you may get Rick Rolled like I did)
Ah man! Driving around the back roads in my parent's silver thunderchicken with all the windows rolled down and the radio cranked, thinking,"I can't wait til I get out of this place."
Ah man, I feel such nostalgia when I hear these brilliant tracks, nostalgia for times passed, the sheer simplicity of life was in itself a beautiful thing to behold and for me this track kind of captures a certain inherent innocence, the innocence of youth in a world full of promise. Yet another brilliant choice @zekepickleman .. I'm going in for a second listen ;)
Haha glad you enjoyed it. I get surprised every Monday by the music post (even though it is every monday) and think back to the week before and the song that caught my attention and made my mind drift a minute or 2. Not sure why it happens to be these oldies and I am going to have to diversify.
The songs seem to just be endless on Fridays when we are into a couple beers at the #cryptopub ;)
I think I was born in the wrong era, I am only 23 and most of the music I like is from the 60's to 1980's, probably due to my family and what they tended to listen to, especially my father, he listened daily to music, and still does.
Ha I've often felt the same myself @shepz1 .. I had the long hair the full works!! The guitar riff on this track is simply divine. Did you ever see the one-off comeback gig they did in 2012? Simply brilliant, it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Thank you for another inspired choice my friend, I really enjoyed this trip down memory lane!
I have been waiting for this all week! I found a great version of one of the greatest pop songs in history!
Hey my friend, what a classic! man this takes me back to my childhood .. I never realised these guys were still going and they sound as fresh as ever! What an inspired slice of new wave history, excellent stuff!! Thank you for the music @seqentialvibe
We just inherited a guinea pig named Muffin. If you replace 'Nigel' with 'Muffin', you've got the song that's been playing in my head ever since. : )
Happy Monday!
Love this @kittyandcheese .. one of my favourite tracks .. but it's also one I haven't heard for a while, so I really enjoyed listening to this. I will have to post a couple of tracks from their psychedelic side project at some point, I'm sure you'll appreciate them :) Everything about this is brilliant, the music and video are all top notch and also a reminder that they don't make them like this anymore!! Thank you for sharing my friend.
Well you know I like to give value for money my friend, how about 1 hour and 16 minutes plus 55 seconds worth?
Another inspired choice from a true visionary @deliberator .. I first heard/saw Santana whilst watching the Woodstock video when I was still at school and I've never looked back! An absolute master at work, I haven't listened to it all yet .. but rest assured I will!! Thank you for the music my friend, you're hitting all the right notes ;)
My friend, and this is in no way begging for an upvote, view my post today for laughs, and give yourself a 10 minute cop out on life, with some fun, I feel you may like it.
Hitting this concert with Allan Rayman next week
Nice pick btw!
Man, what a brilliant track this is @jakeybrown really enjoyed sitting down and letting it take me away .. I tell you my friend you're in for a great night!! You'll have to do a post and link it on here! The music is on fire tonight and this blew me away! Thank you for sharing my friend
Yup, music monday is on fire lately! I'll definitely do a post!
This song speaks for itself and is funny as shit. I saw Dirt Nasty aka Simon Rex in the San Jose airport in Costa Rica on Saturday so I thought this was fitting. ;)
Haha now I do know this track!! And like yourself it can never fail to bring a big smile to my face!! Are these guys still going? Last time I heard them was when they were recording at the whiteboyz .. Dirt Nasty, Andre Legacy and Beardo .. A great and unexpected choice @patriciorayaz
I heard they did a reunion tour a year or so ago. Funny stuff. :)
That song is beautiful! I feel ashamed that I've never even heard of The Bevis Frond up till now.
I don't know why this song leapt into my mind. I don't think I've even played it since my university days! It still seems fresh though.
Thank you @natubat Bevis have been going since the 60s but they never really quite made it, they still play now and you can even catch them playing pubs etc. They play for the love of the music and I really respect that, plus they're highly talented!! Loving the Dub stylee going on here my friend, I saw Lee Perry a few years back .. and I love this stye of music. This is my last track before bed and it's a perfect way for me to drift off into dreamland. Thank you for such an excellent choice .. really enjoyed this!!
I will look out for them. They should be easy to find with a name like that!
Thank you @perceptualflaws for one more beautiful Music Monday :)
No words .. none needed, what a mic drop! the music speaks for itself and over 08.45 minutes of musical mastery Knofler clearly states why he is one of the very best guitarists in the world! Excellent choice my friend, thank you for the music!!
Hey @perceptualflaws I hope you've been doing well. Here's my pick for the week--one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands.Ween- Transdermal Celebration
Hey my friend, love this .. it's brilliant! loving the ethereal styling as well. I'm definitely going to spend some time ;ooking into this bands back catalogue Thank you for the music @fadedhistory .. as always an inspired choice ;)
Thanks I'm glad you're digging it! The albums I recommend to start with are Chocolate and Cheese, The Mollusk, and Quebec. Ween dabbles in different genres and styles and I think these three albums cover the wide range very well.
After inspiring from the #musicmonday i have started music blogs in which i share the sub-continental songs to promote the good music :)
Today's my personal choice is such a wonderful song in which son is giving tribute to his parents. Hope so you guys would love this song :)
