When using odd phrases, it's sometimes a good idea (and helpful for the dancers) to really emphasis beat 1 in someway. Piano definitely does that when it's a mostly drum based groove : 0

Hard to groove some of those odd phrases though. I always struggle to be inspired when playing like 11 bars off 3.
