When talking about Korean music, what flashed in many people is a group of boyband and girlband that consists of members quite a lot and have the appearance and choreography dance until the appearance is special.
But, apparently Korea also has Heavy Metal bands with quality music that is not less. Although the popularity is still far behind K-Pop, but K-Heavy Metal also has its own fans. Here are 10 heavy metal bands from South Korea......
1. Holymarsh
Although now disbanded and inactive, Holymarsh is a heavy metal band consisting of 3 people is still in the forefront of South Korean metal music. Despite playing with 'rough', Holymarsh has a special melody. As expressed by Daniel Ekeroth in the Swedish Deat Metal book, Holymarsh will surely be missed by the world's metal lovers.
2. Tokkaebi
Their Band name is taken from a figure of a native South Korean devil who has a horn above his head and likes to beat while carrying a hammer. Just like the Tokkaebi figure, this metal band provides a thrash metal music that will allow you to experience constant energy in such a pleasant change.
3. Seed
Seed became so popular in 2010 with the release of so many amazing metal songs. Like other South Korean bands, Seed presents thrash metal, thrash sensation with a classic concept that you must surely hear as a lover of metal music/Metalhead.
4. Asiana
Back to the past, Asiana was one of South Korea's metal bands active in the 1980s. With the sound effects of a motorcycle, the pull of a special guitar and of course the vocal shrill will make you wonder why Asiana's seem to be 'forgotten' and displaced by K-Pop charms? Back to the taste problem it seems.
5. Sunoi
If the Swedish band, Marduk has songs with mid-tempo, which they probably would not realize that it has a resemblance to the flow of South Korean metal band, Sunoi. Although now rarely found South Korean bands with a special rhythm speed, but Sunoi has a musical composition that you must know.

In 1993, Crash released the debut album ENDLESS SUPPLY OF PAIN globally, produced by popular death metal producer Colin Richardson and successfully sold over 80,000 copies. In 2010, Crash released their 6th album as proof of their existence and returned to the style of the previous thrash album. Their metal groove style is comparable to the American band, Lamb of God.
7. Gostwind
Gostwind can be called a South Korean metal band that is so unique. Taking the heavy / gothic / folk metal genre, Gostwind consists of five members and a female vocalist. Yes......, female vocalist. So Gostwind music comes with a very unique. High-pitched women's vocals, unique electric rhythms, dominating strings, Gostwind is so catchy.
8. Sad Legend
For those lovers of hard rock music with a sad touch of rhythm, Sad Legend is the band you should be listening to. In addition, Sad Legend adds a metal spirit through the fascinating parts of the piano and violin. Sad Legend's talent makes them one of the top South Korean metal musicians.
9. Oathean
With a prominent black metal rhythm on keyboards and harsh vocals, the Oathean band managed to create a distinctive South Korean metal music rhythm during their 20-year career. Their best album is FADING AWAY INTO THE GRAVE OF NOTHINGNESS, AS A SOLITARY TREE AGAINTS THE SKY, and REGARDING ALL THE SADNESS IN THE WORLD. This band will make your heart burn with a spirit of 'dark' but classy.
10. SWIG666
Among of hundreds of metal versions of the popular K-Pop song Gangnam Style, Swig666 seems to be able to produce the metal version of PSY's song with a new touch and a different. Swig666 managed to show an emotional touch that fits with a typical Korean metal rhythm. It looks like their career path will be so long and influential. Hopefully.
