MUSIC, A GOOD PLATFORM FOR CULTURAL GROWTH

in #music7 years ago (edited)

Music they say, is an organised sound with a meaning. But how does this organised sound portray meaning to a living being?Music has in so many ways affected a living being , these are by ,promoting peace, cry for justice and equity among citizens of a country, promoting the cultural heritage of a given people, worshipping God,and lots of others
Here , we are to look at how music can greatly influence and promote the culture of a people. It is believed without reasonable doubt that music being a commercial instrument can also help our culture to grow beyond borders. This is possible because " the intrinsic controlls the extrinsic". What that signifies is that the intrinsic or the spiritual property of something controls the extrinsic or the physical aspect of the thing. Music being an intrinsic instrument can be used to grow and promote our cultural heritage( our tradition) and also it can degrade and wipe it out reversly too.
Promoting a cultural heritage through music is the same way other musics are sung. A music intending to promote the culture of a people needs all the local equupments as possible. An e.g of such songs is reggae , this song uses only the jamaican beat, no matter how good and convincing a beatman is, for a reggae music to be called reggae, the local jamaican beats must not be ignored. Another common example is the fugi music genre , Fela has made his cultrural drum beat a memorial one by playing his songs with the beats. It is noticed that fela sings 100% yoruba based music, bringing into life fugi and fuju.
These songs and beat are primitively drums and songs for cultural festivals. Remember reggae was officially played during when the jamaicans celebrate their gods. Same as to fuji as it is played mainly on traditional occassions. Fugi also is now sang all over the continent beconing its meaning on traditional yoruba culture. Now fugi is now blended with the afro and gospel genres to make a contemporary vibing music
Wow i say to these great minds, in recent times songs are sung with these beats . Eg popular tekno_ pana is a composite of the ghanian beat blended with traditional beat, frank edwarsd miracle rain, is primarily tour traditional beats

Now it can be seen that through these great minds, reggae , fugi , fuju, juju and lots of others have come to be internationally accepted and these cultures of these people have been established without formal consents
So we plead to our young and and talented youths to make use of their talents wisely and contribute greatly to national and cultural growths

Music a life rest assured, life without music is like a language without sounds..IMG_20180119_152736.jpg
