The future of the audio streaming service is uncertain after laying off almost half of its staff and closing its San Francisco and London Offices.
A move that according to some sources, is only enough to buy a little time.
So if that's the case, you should go to your soundcloud account asap and download the tracks that you can. Unfortunately, you can't save every track.

Ahh crap, I keep most of my voice acting reels on there. I've also been using it for one of my blogs... Thanks for the heads up :/ Know any similar service with embedding tools? I can use YouTube if need be, but for just audio... bleh.
did a quick googling and found this http://hiphopspeakeasy.com/2017/02/alternatives-soundcloud-ultimate-guide/ . Clyp.it or mixcloud sounds good for your need. And yeah, youtube if left without a choice. :)
I heard about the offices in San Francisco! You think its really possible they would shut down something as large as soundcloud? Artists make good money from it
I hope not. I hope they get the funding they need to keep on going. And they should find a better way to monetize the platform.

They need to use a decentralized storage system to cut costs. Too bad I really like soundcloud thanks for the heads up. I have some old tracks on their I don't want to loose.
Decentralized storage is an option they should probably consider. I hope that they survive.
