Wow, Steve, you saw Page and Plant together!
I've seen Page with the Foo Fighters, and Plant by himself, and it was my dream to attend that Led Zep reunion gig at the O2 Arena, but I did not win the right to buy tickets in the ballot.
Plant has no interest in Led Zep anymore, from what I gather, so it's likely never gonna happen for me.
I'm glad it happened for you. :)
It was the nearest I've got to seeing Zeppelin and most of the set was from that era. Plant does different arrangements of some of those songs now, but I can understand he doesn't want to just dwell on the past. Some bands become tributes to themselves. Music should keep moving on
Yeah, I get it. I chatted with a friend of his, who told me how little Plant feels he needs to go back there, and how much he enjoys moving on, growing, exploring.
I have seen him do some of these different types of arrangement live, such as his country-folk arrangements, when he was touring with Alison Kraus, and the World music type spin he went for at the Roundhouse iTunes music festival, back when they still did those there.
He is such an amazing artist. I love him so much. His new stuff, his old stuff. All of it. To hear Robert Plant rock out live is to feel alive.
But I'll never see Plant and Page together. Gotta be ok with that. :)
