In September 2017 New Zealand born superstar Lorde dropped into the BBC Live Loungeto perform 2 songs.
Her first performance was her lead single ‘Green Light’ from her second studio Album Melodrama, she then finished off with a cover of the Phil Collins’ iconic 1981 hit ‘In The Air Tonight’ — proving that she not only makes hit tracks but can recreate them as well?
Before the performance she had the following to say, admitting she hadn’t become a fan of Collins until quite recently.
“I think I was aware of him as a kid but it wasn’t until I got older that I really realised how magical he was,” she said. “I went through this crazy journey of all the Genesis stuff and all his own records".
As someone who cringes when my favourite songs get covered i have to say Lorde samshed this one out of the park.
