It's Music Monday!

in #music8 years ago (edited)

The aim is simple, to banish those Monday blues with an eclectic range of music chosen by Steemit friends both old and new.

Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture it’s true essence.

As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

Music can be a very personal thing, sometimes with a hidden meaning behind the tracks we love. Let’s keep this in good spirit, so if you don’t like a song then your lack of interest can simply be displayed with no vote. Although equally if you love a track and feel compelled to comment then we would love to hear from you. Right here is my choice for Musical Monday:

In these uncertain times I feel this song (and its accompanying video) poignantly display the folly of man and the insanity of those in control of our world. The song is beautiful and in many ways uplifting but with an air of sadness that pervades it’s every chord. Hope you enjoy!

Great idea, I love it.
I'm a big rock fan however in recent years I've found myself getting into classical music. I hope you listen to this piece.
It's Phillip Glass's Violin concerto 2nd movement.
Stick the headphones on, spark up a doobie and close your eyes.
The violins are just relentless and beautiful.
Give it a go You never know you might end up loving it.

Glad you approve my friend. I followed your words to the letter! set aside any preconceived ideas I may have had and you know what? I loved it! hauntingly beautiful and atmospheric and one that's been added to my playlist for those special melting moments. It may take a while to build this concept up, it may even just be us two for a few weeks .. but if you keep posting recomendations of this quality then I'm cool with that! Hopefully see you next week.

I've got next weeks in mind already dude.
Can't wait.

This is one of my favorite songs as well! I love almost anything by Glass, Facades is prob my favorite.

Did you post it? You should, a lot of people don't listen to classical music as they think it's uncool. But movies and game scores are chockablock with it. People just need reminding.

I posted something different, same genre though.

I'll check it out later 👍

Great idea here. My musical tastes are all over the place but this one is in the classical genre and it is one of my favorite pieces of music.

Sorry I went to bed before I saw this last night. Really nice combination of sounds but each seems to flow into one another perfectly. Very nice to wake up to so thanks for taking the time to post.
