My favorite Rolling Stones records not everybody may know

in #music8 years ago

As I am a big Rolling Stones fan I want to introduce to you some live records and songs of the band you may not knew before.

If You Can’t Rock Me / Get Off Of My Cloud – Love You Live

The 1970s live record in which If You Can’t Rock Me goes fluently over into Get Off Of My Cloud is excellent in my view on how to perform live. First of all, If You Can’t Rock Me is played nice but the version of Get Off of My Cloud makes it great credited to the piano
licks played by Ian Stewart and Billy Preston.

Short and Curlies – Its Only Rock ´N´ Roll

Maybe the most unknown song of my selection. I actually like it but I don’t know why exactly. Also, I think the lyrics are kind of funny and messy.

100 Years Ago – Goats Head Soup

I think a lot of Stones fans know the song but regardless I wanted to include it on the list because I really love this song since I first listened to it. 100 Years Ago has a great nostalgic mood to it at the beginning with the piano and as its progress ending on a great note with Mick Taylor's guitar solo.

Down The Road Apiece – Live 1965: Music from Charlie Is My Darling

Originally written by Don Raye and later also recorded by Chuck Berry the Rolling Stones covered this song. Unfortunately, I could not find the live record on YouTube but can just highly recommend it because with how much power the band plays the song compared to the more puristic studio version.

Melody – Black and Blue

With the help of Billy Preston the Rolling Stones and he created this great blues song.

Too Tight – Bridges To Babylon

It is definitely not the best song from the album but I like the more modern up-tempo style combined with still sounding like the Rolling Stones.

So, I hope you liked my little mix of Rolling Stones records and feel free to discuss and comment what you love of the band not known to everybody.
