I recently posted two new organ music videos on YouTube and I'd like to tell you a bit about them.

This organ arrangement of the famous Australian ballad Waltzing Matilda was made by my friend James Flores (@contrabourdon).

I recorded this piece for the Secrets of Organ Playing Contest (Week 69) but shared this edited version on YouTube in honor of my Australian colleagues' observance of ANZAC Day today.

Waltzing Matilda has a lovely tune; one that sounds rather melancholy to me. In registering this performance I therefore desired a gentler sound. To that end I did not use any mixture or mutation stops, and I added reeds only at the very end where the scores explicitly calls for them.

Far Away is a song without words. The music was inspired by the experience of being far from people and things we love or desire, or seeing/hoping for someone/something in our lives in the future.

If you enjoy these videos I hope you will consider subscribing to my YouTube channel!
